Balli Family Cases
The Balli Family Organization has selected Dee Dee King, Certified Genealogist, to organize a genealogical master data base for the family and to serve as an expert witness for the family heirship cases. This data base will be used for the sole purpose of collecting documented evidence of family connections in one central location.
Balli family members are responsible for voluntarily submitting evidence of their lineage. A special Balli Family Research Agreement has been created. Family members will submit the Agreement with copies of their genealogical records and a fee of $150. Please request a Research Agreement.
The information will be recorded in a master evidence file and in a genealogy program using methods consistent with the Association of Professional Genealogists. If the individual is found to be eligible for a pending legal case, Dee Dee King, CG, will create and provide court-quality evidence addressing the heirship, genealogy and documentation. If the individual is found to be in a different lineage than current pending cases, the information will be retained for future cases for which the person may be eligible. The initial $150 fee will be applied to the first court case for which the individual is eligible. Legal files for additional cases will be at a reduced rate to cover the costs of each case.
Through this cooperative agreement, the Balli Family Organization can build and maintain a master file from which we can quickly pull lists of eligible family members as cases are presented. For this reason, it is important that as many family members as possible join in the effort.
All work will be completed by a Certified Genealogist and the fees will include the cost of travel for testimony in these cases as an expert witness.
Services may include:
- Provide a review and analysis of your current "packet", if necessary
- Determine which documentation is missing
- Provide a Research Plan, if necessary
- Conduct or assist in continued research, if necessary
- Prepare the master evidence file and individual files for the Court, the attorney and the client.
For the heirships to meet court-quality standard, all generations must have at least one document connecting each generation to the next, the child to the parents; each generation must have evidence of birth, marriage and death; each document must be fully cited as to the source; and the report must be structured to the genealogical standard and court evidence standard. These requirements go beyond the usual genealogical research and compilations of amateur family historians and researchers. Many professional genealogists do not also have experience with the court-quality standard, reports or testimony.
Ms. King's professional experience includes three years of Forensic and Heirship work for attorneys, estates and Texas courts. Dee Dee King is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) and served as founding President of its Lone Star Chapter (2006-2007). She is also a Certified Genealogist (SM), Board for Certification of Genealogists, BCG. All work is done according to the genealogical standard, APG Code of Ethics and BCG Code of Ethics and Conduct. Note: The State of Texas does not license genealogists.
